The Dune Compzine

The Dune Compzine

The Dune chronicles, written by Frank Herbert, have fascinated me for ages. Although I have not indulged in the recent prequels published by Brian Herbert and that other guy, I did read the 6 original novels many times, as well as large chunks of the Dune Encyclopedia. The novels are great works of science-fiction and I have the utmost admiration for Herbert.

I'm sure that there are many more Dune fans in the zine community and beyond, so I decided that I would put together a Dune Compzine. You can send in for publication any article, fanfiction (no cross-over with other universes please), drawings/paintings/pictures, jokes, limericks, analysis, criticism, anecdotes, influence the novels have had on your life, fantasies of being one of the characters, and any other things you want to create about dune that is mass-reproduceable. I currently intend to make the zine half-letter sized with black and white photocopying, so you can either just send the text of what you want to publish, or make the layout for your page yourself. The cover will be in colour, probably laser-printed unless someone comes up with a cool silkscreen, which would be way better. I currently don't plan to include a disc, but should someone come up with a cool video, I would consider adding multi-media entries as well on a disc, either CD-R or DVD-R depending on the space needs.

Of course, as the sole spice-intoxicated navigator behind this project, I reserve the right to not publish anything, but hey, just make it interesting!
